Pulaski, NY — Fulton (www.fulton.com), the global manufacturer of steam, hydronic and thermal fluid heat transfer products and provider of innovative energy management solutions, is pleased to announce that members of its engineering staff have received approval from The Practicing Institute of Engineering, Inc. (PIE) to conduct courses designed to meet mandatory New York State professional competency requirements for licensed engineers.

Credit toward the state continuing education requirements may be obtained through the following PIE course offerings:

  • Condensing Boilers – Designs and Applications  (1 credit)
  • Primary and Variable Flow Piping Systems for Condensing Hydronic Boilers (1 credit)
  • Thermal Fluid Applications and System Design (1.5 credit)
  • Steam Systems – Designs and Applications (1 credit)

Fulton Companies Engineers are available to provide the continuing education courses on-site for professional offices.

“Engineering is a profession in which there is constant change and new guiding technologies,” said Sperry. “Keeping up-to-date is a critical way to ensure our profession stays relevant and our customers’ needs are met.”

Fulton is dedicated to ensuring its staff is at the forefront of evolving technologies in the field, as well as providing opportunities to share engineering expertise with others in terms of heat transfer applications, Sperry said.

Continuing professional competency (CPC) is mandatory for licensed Professional Engineers to maintain their New York State registration status. This competency is measured in professional development hours (PDH) and each licensed engineer is required to complete 36 hours of continuing education during each three-year registration period.

PIE assists engineers' ability to meet these educational requirements by evaluating and approving courses for professional development hours credit, and by facilitating organizations in meeting the requirements.
