Buyer/Planner

Job Overview

A Buyer/Planner within The Fulton Companies performs the functions of purchasing raw materials and planning the flow of inventory. This position requires the objective use of a multi-million dollar budget to manage the flow of materials from raw goods to a finished product. Vendor and customer relations are of significant focus as well

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Professional dealings with vendors
  • Purchasing of raw materials
  • Optimization of inventory investment
  • Coordination of turn of inventory and lead times
  • Purchasing of high cost inventory items
  • Utilization of MRP system

Minimum Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience or training/education as a buyer/purchaser
  • Knowledge of supply chain management
  • Knowledge of MRP systems
  • Strong organizational skills

Required TRaining

  • CPIM or APICS certifications or memberships are appreciated, but not required
