ASME Engineer
Job Overview
ASME Engineers ensure Fulton products meet regulated standards through the computation of technical calculations referenced in the ASME manual. Engineers in this role have a strong sense of urgency and are able to effectively communicate and educate their fellow engineers and production team to the standards and needs of ASME regulations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Understand, teach and enforce the ASME Code requirements, as well as applicable Fulton quality procedures
- Provide technical support to all areas of the organization concerning the ASME Code requirements
- Prepare ASME calculations/designs for all Fulton pressure vessels
- Advise on proper material selections, weld methodology, and inspection requirements for pressure vessels
- Interface with the on-site Authorized Inspector, as well as other jurisdictional inspectors
- Develop and maintain accurate shop travelers
- Address ASME Code related NCRs and CARs as needed
- Provide support in ASME tri-annual audits and maintaining our ASME certifications
- Travel to other Fulton-owned facilities to provide ASME Code support
- Develop and maintain Quality Control welding procedures PQR, WPS and WPQ
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- AAS in Engineering and or 5+ years experience in manufacturing ASME code boilers and pressure vessels
- Welding and fabrication training and or experience
- Identifying and reading reports, labels, drawings and viewing computer screens
- Strong communication skills
- Walking, sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
Required Training
- Orientation to Quality Procedures – including Quality Control Manual, QC procedures, Corrective Action Program, NCR process and OSD process
- ASME Code sections applicable and standards
- International Codes
- Automated Business System (Interactive)
